The 2013 Annapolis Eastport Tug of War was a day of friendly competition, cold beer, and a bounty of food choices. On the Annapolis side Red Red Wine Bar supplied the crowd with bloody marys, walk the plank rum punch, wine, and craft beer. Galway Bay came out with tomato whiskey soup and beef stew, while Factors Row served up brats and hamburgers. Sophie’s Crêpes provided some of Annapolis’s sweet and savory crepe favorites.
Eastport lived up to their reputation as the party side with 2 beer trucks, a mobile cocktail bar, a chili cook-off, and loads of amazing food. Some of our personal favorites on the Eastport side was the oyster shooters, fresh cut fries, and fried fish. If the line was any indication the crowd favorites seemed to be It’s the Pits BBQ and the various adult beverage stations.
Annapolis Fork had honor of being part of the Edgewater sides Chili Cook-off judge’s panel. 15 all meat chili entries hit the table and were judged on color, consistency, taste, smell, and after taste.
With all the excitement throughout the day we were unable to keep track of which side won which Tugs. However, when it comes to food and drink Eastport gets our vote this year.
