images72PQSH8CGet creative with cutting boards

As a home cook and frequent entertainer, I feel like I never have enough cutting boards. Whether it is a small board just big enough to cut a lemon or one to plate cheese, I am a big fan of cutting boards. You can often find beautiful boards made out of repurposed wood in unique shapes, or even have custom boards made like the ones from Words With Boards in Baltimore. You can check out their boards at www.wordswithboards.com/.  To find the perfect cutting board for your foodie this year, keep an eye out while shopping, visit Words With Boards, or check out JJ’s cutting Boards at the Anne Arundel Holiday Farmers Market on Saturday Mornings.

Cupcake Class

Unique Culinary Experiences

While cooking at home is fun, a true foodie is always interested in expanding their skills, knowledge, and experiences around food. There are a few local organizations that can offer truly unique and exciting culinary experiences.  Roundz Gourmet Market & Catering offers a variety of programs such as Chef Tables, Cooking Classes, and even a Roundz After Dark experience.  Look for their offerings and schedules at www.roundz.com.   Cupcake Blvd offers cupcake decorating classes for the foodie with a sweet tooth, see them at http://cupcakeblvd.com/.  A Cooks Café (http://www.acookscafe.com/) and Whole Foods (http://www.wholefoodsmarket.com/) also offer some amazing programs. To look up class schedules, simply visit their websites or give them a call.

PopsationsPopsations Gourmet Popcorn

What foodie does not like to receive food?  Popsations Popcorn Company is a Maryland-based company located in Timonium that produces creative popcorn variations.  Some of their flavors include Crabby Caramel (dusted with Old Bay), holiday favorite White Chocolate Peppermint and the ever-popular Classic Caramel.  Order online at www.popsationspopcorn.com or pick up a bag at our local Baltimore Tea Company.

modernist-cuisineFoodie Reads

Cookbooks are always a great gift, but this year we would like to suggest giving a gift that keeps on giving. Consider giving a subscription to a food or cooking magazine.  If your foodie was exceptionally good and your budget is healthy, Modernist Cuisine books are a food lover’s dream.

Ceremony

Ceremony Coffee

Ceremony Coffee offers complex and sophisticated blends of coffee that have won Ceremony several awards and recognition in the world of coffee.  Don’t just settle for coffee that reads mild or bold blend, choose a coffee with a description like “Butter croissant and cherry aromatics. Pick up Ceremony Coffee online, http://ceremonycoffee.com/ , at Café Pronto, or at the Ceremony Coffee located at 90 Russell Street in Annapolis.
