Annapolis natives Brea Reeves and Ben Wang have been running a successful food truck in Chincoteague Virginia called Sandy Pony Donuts. Having created a faithful fan base in Virginia they decided to return home to Annapolis, team up with their business partner Travis Katski, and share Sandy Pony’s fun and creative donuts with their hometown.
Sandy Pony offers 24 donut creations all made fresh to order and served warm at their pick-up window. Some creations include the Porky Pony with honey glaze, cinnamon sugar, and bacon and the Salted Caramel with caramel glaze and pretzels. The base donut is a traditional cake donut which is fried, and dipped in glaze and toppings. On the menu you will also find bubble tea, coffee, and even protein donuts containing 17grams of protein.
In an effort to bring even more delightful offerings to their customers, they decided to team up with Chincoteague’s Island Creamery to create what they call a Sandy Pile. A Sandy Pile is essentially a donut of your choice topped with Island Creamery’s vanilla ice cream. Island Creamery has received top recognition for their ice cream including Trip Advisor’ s Best in the US and BuzzFeed’s Top 3 Ice Cream Shops.
Sandy Pony Donuts is located in the old Annapolis Towne Centre near Jimmy Johns and Zoe’s Kitchen. The donuts are currently priced at $1.65each, $8.80 for a ½ dozen, and $14.80 for a dozen. The owners are friendly, location spacious, and their donuts not only exciting but also delicious.
