Exciting things are cooking in Annapolis this year. Here are a few of the restaurants we’ve welcomed so far and some on the horizon for 2017-2018.
New in 2017
Evelyn’s Place is located in the old Regina’s location of West Annapolis. Specializing in breakfast, brunch, and lunch this neighborhood restaurant will be serving up plates using fresh and local ingredients. Executive Chef Carla Lucente, the prior owner operator of B.B. Bistro will be in the kitchen and her energy, passion, and inspiration are sure to deliver.
Opening in June of 2017, Flamant is located in the old Giant Peach Location of West Annapolis and will be the sister restaurant of DC’s Table. Renowned Chef Frederik De Pue is expected to bring classic European country cooking to Annapolis, using seasonal ingredients and items grown in their restaurant’s garden. The atmosphere is being described as casual, warm, and cozy. We can’t help but to wonder if this will become West Annapolis’s Vin909 equivalent.
Seawolf is aiming to become Annapolis’s first waterfront beer garden. With a brewery opening in Howard County the idea is that Annapolis will become the location of their beer garden and Chef driven restaurant. Their love for the Naval Academy and all things Maryland has inspired their beer names, labeling, and styles.
German grocery chain Lidl will be building a 36,000sqft store off of Bay Ridge Road. The concept has been called a cross between Walmart and Trader Joes.
This west street bistro is now open and features breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. Ran by the Lighthouse Homeless Prevention Support Center, this location helps build employment success for hundreds of people in need.
Chesapeake Coffee & Tea Company
This local coffee chain will be opening next to Anthropology in the Annapolis Towne Centere. At this time coffee options have been limited to the Starbucks in Target or the Coffee stand at Whole Foods. We think this Coffee Shop will be a great option for light breakfast, quick lunches, and a place to post up with a laptop.
Cali Burger aims to bring “Sunny Southern California Style Burgers” to the Annapolis Harbour Center
Chipotle Mexican Grill
Chipotle Mexican Grill is open in Downtown Annapolis. Occupying Hard Bean’s Market Space location, Chipotle’s opening has fueled the ongoing debate about chain businesses in Annapolis’s historic downtown.
Ketch 22 will not be opening here in Annapolis but in the North Beach Area. It will be the sister location to The Point Crab House and we confident that Chef Bobby Jones and wife Julie will deliver a great concept and well executed plates of awesome.
While 2017 will prove to be an exciting year in food for Annapolis, 2018 is sure to deliver with potential developments in the Eastport Landings and chatter about improvements to Annapolis’s Market House concept.
